Khmer Ceramics celebrates the preservation of Cambodian culture in resistance to genocide.
Learn how to draw, transfer, carve, & relief traditional designs on clay. You’ll craft up to 3 ornaments with traditional techniques.
No experience needed. All materials provided.
For ages 12+. Ages 12-16 to sign up with guardian.

Cultural Exploration [6 weeks]
A unique 6-week series that encompasses POT’s mission to preserve & celebrate culture with clay.
Preserving Khmer ceramics is vital to the continuation of my culture & form of resistance to the 1975 Cambodian genocide. I studied under 1 of 3 Cambodian ceramic masters who survived the genocide. Now, I’m excited to share my practice with folks of ALL backgrounds!
You’ll learn surface decoration techniques to make one large piece, or multiple small pieces that explore a personal or cultural narrative.

Battambong Night Market
A night market of local small business to enhance your palate experience of traditional and modern Cambodian flavors at Ten Mile Brewing on Friday, April 4 from 4-9pm
We’ll have a raffle, prizes, special guests, and
the release of Battambong Lager, a crisp, refreshing rice lager in collaboration with Ten Mile Brewing and The Cambodian Cowboy.
On stage we’ll have Pov Solo with Reachany Rock Band, with invited guests to demo a few Cambodian dishes.
Come in and join us for the excitement and flavors of Battambong!

Cambodia Town Parade & culture festival
Join us at 1 PM & 3 PM for a talk and clay demos with the master. Play with clay and connect with tradition. Shop & take home a masterpiece by Master Cambodian Ceramist Yary Livan.
If you’d like us to apply a clear glaze and fire a piece you made with clay, you can pay a fee depending on the size ($5-$15). We’ll notify you once the pieces are ready for pickup. Pick-up is in 4-6 weeks in Long Beach.

Art for Gaza
Our pottery community has come together to host an art auction fundraiser for Gazans affected by the ongoing genocide. Join us for an evening of free tea, small bites, and art of all kinds to buy in solidarity with the Palestinian people 🍉
All proceeds will be donated to Palestinian Childrens Relief Fund & Anera.
